ABOUT US
The South Shore Steelheads is an elite travel baseball program made up of players from Northwest Indiana aka  "The South Shore" aka "The Region". The Steelheads compete in tournaments throughout the Midwest as well as the Northern Illinois Metro League. Our goal is to provide our players with a great baseball experience that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship and the love of the game. We will strive to be recognized as one of the best baseball programs in the country.

15U STEELHEADS CAPTURE 100TH WIN:  The 15U Steelheads won their 100th career game on June 19th, 2013.  The 3 year record of this group is 104-24-1 and dates back to 2011 when the organization started as a 13U team.  In 3 years, the Steelheads have won 9 tournament championships including 2 World Series, 1 National Championship and 1 League Championship.  John Batistatos, founder of the Steelheads, stated, "This is a tribute to all the great players that have come through the organization.  I am proud to have helped these young men achieve success and better themselves as people and players".

BREAKING NEWS

16U STEELHEADS WIN 2014 GREAT LAKES SUPER SELECT CHAMPIONSHIP: The "Region Rats" stormed into Indianapolis to face 40 teams representing 7 states from the Midwest and came out on top going 7-0 in pool and bracket play. In the championship game, the Steelheads knocked off Ohio Elite  3-2 to take the crown with a gem of a pitching performance from Jack Healy who gave up 1 earned run in 7 innings.

ZANOLLA TO MANAGE STEELHEADS: Former professional baseball player and college standout Dan Zanolla will be managing the 17u Steelheads in 2015. Zanolla played college baseball at Indiana and Purdue then played in the Padres and Marlins organization. Zanolla will be bringing techniques, drills and education that was utilized at the college and professional levels. "Z brings a wealth of knowledge to the Steelheads and will take us to the next level," said John Batistatos, founder of the Steelheads. "I played with Z and know his capabilites so we jumped on the opportunity to have him manage our team."
